Dan, Eric, And Bob: Well, good evening. How's everybody? back with us. Yeah, it's been a while. â got both hands now. Shoulder surgery, I'm getting there. I'm impressed. It's good. Yeah. I'm at 13 weeks right now. So it's struggle. Physical therapy is rough. Went today and I hurt. Your whole next year is going to be uncomfortable. I â didn't confidence it. I was afraid to lift stuff because it was... I don't know. Yeah. No, you're exactly right. You're exactly right. It's touchy right now. Are you back to work yet? I have been back to work, but I just work in the office. I don't have to go out and lift anything heavy, but now the spring is here. It's yard work time. cutting grass, I can do perfectly. I did some weeding today. That kind of sucked. saw Erica out the other day and she was working in the side yard. I almost wanted to say, you should put some flowers in over there. Yeah, we need more. Shoot, it stabbed me. need more. Yeah, So you brought a Seelbach, the wheated 107 proof. I have this old wheated that â I haven't opened 100 proof. I figured we'll do that one first. that's a little bit lower. Don't kill out. Excited for this one, â Yeah. Yeah, I've seen it, but never. the old elk â sold to Midwest prior to Greg Metzie was the 38 year guy at MGP. Left started this place, but still used the MGP juice. So it's from â Colorado, but in Indiana, which is. â MGP. that came out pretty easy. That was weird. With old elk, seems like all the old elks, no matter what they are, they kind of have their distinct flavor. Yeah, it's the old elk flavor. Yeah. You know, like a Jack Daniel's flavor. I'm not saying it's like Jack Daniel's, but â you you that â flavor whenever hits your lips. So good when your lips. Yeah, I think that was like a loose, loose cork. Does it go back in easy? I mean, like the top of the thing was even more. Yeah. Oh yeah, you're right. So I have an extra old old cork at home, I think, and I'll bring it down. If not, I'll grab a bottle of drink and then bring that down to you. It's cracked, Dan. It is cracked. Yeah, it is cracked. So I... You must have bumped it or something. Oh, there you go. The Justin Case box. Justin Case box with, well, it's because, you know, we've been doing so many of those dusties. You never know. I wonder you just hit the top of this thing or something. â I know. â Maybe they've gotten bunk. So oak. Double funk on it to Eric's point. â do get the MGP out of it. You know, â just feel like they all have a very consistent. for But wheated, it should calm that down a little bit. Right. No, it didn't calm it down too much. still tastes like an old elk. Yeah. Yeah, it's a different type of sweetness. It's not a normal sweet. Yeah. takes it to the spicier side. It's sweet, but it's still got the spice to got the baking spice, and that's at the top of food chain, so to speak. But â do believe it's like malt. It's like a malted sweetness. All right. Yeah, see that. Mm-hmm. â It's pretty spicy for a wheater Yeah. Yeah. Not what I'm used to in a wheat. Glad we tried this one before we tried the Seelbach's agree. Yeah, I, that's different. Yeah. I to say maybe I'm not a Old Elk guy. â I think we'll have to come back around to this one. You what? Neck poor, fresh crack. Yeah. it breathe little bit. Let it breathe. Let it sit for a little bit. I think it's going to be better. I'm not Old Elk fan. I'll drink it, but I'm not big fan of Old Elk. So maybe it'll be better that point, but. Yeah, I'm not really sure. So we're not relegating it to the table of shame. No, no, it's not table shame worthy yet. That's the table of shame. You're welcome to try anything you want on there. don't advise it, but you're welcome to. Castle Key. I bought a bottle. I bought a bottle and I... had the neck for, I opened it up and let it sit there. I let it sit there for two hours open. Just be like, okay, breathe. Please breathe. Because as soon as I opened, I smelled it and I could smell the ethanol. It was just like, whoa, this is going to be tough. I tried it. I'm to use it for mixers now. Mixers? â Yep. going to be used for mixers. Yeah. I'm not messing with what else is over there. Bardstown Wheat? Yeah. You don't like that one? I actually love Bardstown I don't think I tried that one, did I? I don't think so. that one got put over there just because it was... Bardstown is a like the Seal Box. maybe it was. Yeah. I can't see the other one from here, what that is. That's that Nashville Barrel Company. That was just... yeah, that got really bad right away. Grand opening, grand closing. going over to the of shame. Uh-huh. Yeah. No, that Castle Key it's bad. Dirty Band-Aids. â Not there might be people out there that like it. If you do, fine to each their own. That's right. That's right. That's right. Everybody has different taste buds. That one don't fit mine. â don't know if we talking about this. â It was literally like, â man, I don't like that thing. like, how bad could it be? And I'm like, let me try it. I'm like, whoa. â yeah. Do you remember the Michael Keaton movie when they were in the car plant in Pittsburgh? was that called? I know the movie you're talking about. But the opening scene is everybody's, have senior Japanese executives in the room with the ribbons of shame on. â Ribbons shame. That's what that bottle is. That bottle got a ribbon of shame. of shame. right, that was interesting. Yeah, I think we should quickly move on to the Seelbach. Yeah, I think Seelbach will hopefully. So the Seelbach I up Orchard Park, New York, just south of Buffalo, where they're building a new stadium. It's kind of close to where they're building it, not so much, but it's tough. the 95 exit one of the often 95 one of the exits for Orchard Park and my cousin. When I was up there for the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament, which was a blast. I'm sure it's so much fun. When I left, said he had had a has a friend that owns a liquor store. So we're runs a liquor store and he said, Hey, stop here. He'll hook you up. So I went there. I talked to him for 30 minutes, he let me try a couple things, which was really nice. They actually have a tasting room their liquor store where they'll do podcasts and they bring in this, these and it's the same â ones single time. And they'll have, I don't know, maybe five to 10 people there to taste. And they'll do the podcast on whatever they choose that they're going to do the tasting on. But he's like his picks. in this one area and he let me try a couple of them. Absolutely amazing. The gentleman's name is Shannon. guy. If you ever stop there, â to him. He's â Really cool. â York has so different compared to Ohio. Just the way they, to your point, store picks are everywhere there because they, they get access. Yeah, they are. But at the same time, he said that they might get weller once a year. Yeah. Right. Whereas we're getting it every other month or every month. Yeah. think it was, it was originally, it had gone to five weeks. I think it was three weeks this time. Yeah. It was short. It was supposed to be back out tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah. Really? Yeah. â All â All So yeah, this is a really, really smooth one, especially compared to the old elk. â Yeah. is great on it. This is, I think for my taste buds, it gets me closer to like a Weller 107, the antique. Yeah. You're getting a little bit of grape on it. Cherry? it's Colonial Wine and Spirits, by the way, in Orchard Park. â Much â yeah. I would say it's a little than the Antique 107. I think it is too. Yeah. That was my thought was I think a lot those were spoiled, â a lot of stuff we drank. â But I think Antique is good, but average compared to lot of other stuff that we get into. this thing is. Yeah. I is pretty nice. That is really nice. I mean, I think in Texas or different in New York, but I think that if I remember correctly, that may it was probably under $50 for that bottle and they can order that by the case. Whereas here you can't see it. that's the weird part about Ohio is the things we get, we get lots of, but â think that I don't know if they're slow or choosy on what they bring in or. Yeah. don't know how it works. Well, then it's going to go to the. the warehouse and then it sits there for three to months. mean, yeah, it's a whole thing. And it is a wheatie nose on this too. It's nice. Yeah. Yeah, I'm glad he told me to buy it because he said that that was his favorite. real â vanilla. Yeah, it's got the. I'm getting that fruit. almost floral. I that. Pretty bottle. the next time I'm up there, I'm gonna have a couple bottles for you guys. No â And in Seelbach, mean, so he's a collector. Yeah. You know, that's the, he's got like one of the biggest collections there is, private collections. â then he this is his passion, know, sourcing these. Your collection a side for you. Yeah. I gotta reinvest in that thing Right. Don't get high on your own supply. Is that what this is? that like, what they say. Never get high on your own supply. So I want to worry. I'm going to run over this. It says Kentucky. I looked, it just says distilled in Kentucky, bottled and manifest distilling in Jacksonville. Yeah, I don't know. That's a nice witter. Yeah. Batch 4, bottle 614. 53.5. Not aged at it. Still good. Maybe that would give it away if he agitated it. Yeah. So what else is 107 proof? Something else sitting around. If only there was something else sitting around that was 107 proof. That was a wheater. I don't know. Maybe we'll just do a little. Oh, geez. That's 107. Yeah, I thought it was 10. That's 107. Oh, I thought was 110. Oh, boy. Just a little 110. Splash. Same. See, even their bottles I pour better out of. They do pour pretty good. You shit the bed on the middle one though. Yeah. It's all over the place. want more? No. I'm good. You got to put that right in the middle here. Oh, look at it. You can't put it back up on the shelf. I always think this one drinks hot. I agree. I think it drinks hot. I mean, I think the 15 drinks a lot. Oh, 15 is my favorite. Which one was this? Old room. I didn't get to see it. Oh yeah. Tenure. Yeah, the 15 out of all of them is definitely my favorite too. you Orangey. orangey. A little. think it drinks a little hotter, but it also has a little thicker, more viscous. It's a little bite to it like I don't. I've never been high on this one, this one, maybe it's just what we've been following it with or proceeding it with. It's better today than I remember it. Yeah. True. True. It's definitely better than the old elk. Good figure. But notice, from the last time I tried it till now, it is definitely a lot better. I know if it's because of the order that we went in, like you were talking about, or what we're following up on. Well, and everything plays, I think, off of each other. think, and I really like that Seelbach, but I think I like the 10 rip, just a little, I like that mouth feel, that creaminess that I get with that taste. I think the steel box was very consistent. Yeah. yeah, and good. What I'm enjoying right now â the aftertaste of the rip. Yeah. That's â it just sitting there. It's really good. It doesn't. â I think all of the Van Michaels do that. Yeah. I they all have that just wonderful lasting. That's it. I'm gonna have to officially change my mind on this one. It's not good at 15, but it's not as hot or as spicy as I remember it. And this has been open for a little bit too now. So maybe that's it. Six months, seven months probably. Yeah. Could be. Gotta let it breathe a little bit. Yeah, that's a good pour. Happy with that one. That one's opened up some I guess. Yeah. Well, I like that. Yeah. But again, and you're gonna talk about SRPs and availability. Yeah, because I mean, you can just go online and have it shipped to your house. I'm up that way often enough too. So. Yeah, but I mean, even the Seelbach, I mean, go to the Seelbach website and now they do that. Cause they, they sold some of the ass pocket whiskey, whiskey stuff. So that, yeah. Yeah. That was good stuff. Good choice though, to go with the rip after that Seelbach. Man, holds too. Yeah. That's what I said. I'm just sitting here enjoying that flavor. Yeah. It doesn't just doesn't go away. Yeah. Well, thank you. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you very much. for coming over. Thanks for letting me try that. Thanks for bringing one. appreciate it. a while. Definitely been a while. But I'm back. I'm back. Well, we'll do more. Sounds good. It be a busy summer. Very, very. Yeah. Well, hey, for watching. Please like and and we'll see you Everybody have a good night. Good night.
