Dan And Bob: Well, good evening. How's everybody tonight? Oh, what a day. Yeah. 75 degrees. Shorts today. It was good to be outside. Got a little bit of stuff done. Yeah, I got to rest a little bit today. And of course, Ohio, they're releasing the Woodford. Double, double oaked. I happened to have got one for my birthday. Hey, look at that. From my mom and dad. That's good. Yeah. So, we'll nose this a little bit. How was your day? Good. I'm trying think. I was up early. The dogs were up early this morning. Driving me nuts. I ended up getting, trying to get my garage cleaned up just from all the grossness of winter. So just trying to work on some of that, clear out the garage. And then we were in a bunch of errands earlier today. So it's a normal Saturday afternoon. Maybe Bed Bath & Beyond. I don't know if we'll have time. dark that is. I'm surprised by that. Yeah. But then again, it's also double, double, oaked. Right. That's almost like that Armagnac was. Yeah. Mmm good. Yeah does still sweet. Yeah So it's the 90.4 proof Woodford. Now this was the 2025 bottle. I don't think they're any different. No, I think it's the same. Look at the legs on that too. It holds. Get a lot of the caramel and vanilla. Yep, I agree. 100%. That's the, I mean, it's the first thing you notice on it. This is one of the tours last year when we were down, we went on. It's such a beautiful property. it's got so much history tied into it and the ⁓ houses are old, the still rooms are old, like everything's old there. Next we're down, this is one of the ones I think we should do. And that's Bardstown, right? ⁓ is that? of in between. It's one of ⁓ good luck getting it, single lane roads. ⁓ horse pasture and fences everywhere. It's tight getting back in. I don't know how they ship product out of that thing. There's like a cherry or a fruit. It's the vanilla that I get. I get something ⁓ little sweeter like a... It's like a maraschino cherry. Okay. Not the regular, it's like the, whatchamacallit, the good ones, what's name of Luxardo. Luxardo, yeah. Hmm. You've had this one before, right? Mm-hmm. yeah. Wow. really good. There's no bite to that at all. This thing could be dangerous. Right. So I get that vanilla, I get a lot of caramel, and then I get that Luxardo cherry. That's really good. Hmm. You're right though, it is dark. I don't even... Maybe that president's choice? I don't know. Yeah, I don't think... you imagine what it was before they proved it down? ⁓ geez. Well, I they had... I'm just trying to think how they would have... You don't know how long the second finish is, right? Like, that's the side that you don't know. ⁓ And do prove it before they finish it? Maybe, yes. ⁓ I mean, could see why they wouldn't. it's going to go in and out of the barrel faster with the extra... With the ⁓ Well, said they'd more... With the lower proof, it's going to get more flavors of the wood, water content. This pretty be honest. Like I said, think this thing could be dangerous because that's an easy sip. Yeah, that's an easy sip. you could even get some of these who's with 90.4. Yeah. Let talk about some of these others that are sitting at 90. better than Blanton's. I just trying to think through some of these others. That's a little drink right there. Right. But again, it's also ⁓ double the too. Well, more than double the price. So I I guess paying for it, but you're right though. It's, a nice pour. So found... ⁓ here. ⁓ last words, go ahead, tell me more. So it's like a nine, when it's together, it's a nine foot sofa. And a number of chairs and then tables. wow. Like coffee tables. They're all bourbon barrel stuff. I think you should tell her she spends too much money on furniture, on bourbon furniture now. I think this is right way to do this. Flip the table on her. The giant eagle. Okay. Over in Doral. Okay. Still had old Forester 1924. Listen, I think it's been around a couple of times now. Everybody who wants one's got one I think now. Yeah. Man, this is. It's the marshmallow that I keep catching now. really reminds me, when I was down there, we did a tour of Stave and you're there and they're burning these barrels and that's the thing you notice. It doesn't smell like campfire or anything. It smells like marshmallow everywhere. It's crazy the way they ⁓ exactly char things out. That's really nice. is, yeah, this is a And not too oaky. It's not drying out or else. It's got a great finish on it. Now, is 2026 as good as 2025 becomes the question, I guess. That's the risk. I don't know. Mmm. Man. Yeah, that's really good. I like it. I think Steph would even like this. Yeah. ⁓ not hot. It's not. It's just a nice easy sip. a nice flavor to it. Yes. Like you almost get a little chocolate. I just chocolate ice cream. Well, that'll do it. We ran to Handel's after dinner. So chocolate pecan is to... Maybe that's why I like this so much. Chocolate Malt with caramel. Yeah. ⁓ goodness, yeah, that's nice. think that's probably the best Woodford I've had. Yeah. And I have the regular double-oaked and it's, I mean, it's not bad, but it's not this good. No, this is- It's good, but this is ⁓ Hmm. says heavily toasted new oak. I wonder if they go new oak both barrels. Kill with one. feel like that. I would be shocked by that, I guess. But I guess also if you're get the full power of double oaked, ⁓ you'd probably to go into new both times. Yeah, you would Yeah. So ⁓ since did chocolate cream. This is the other Woodford, right? Yeah, this is my other Woodford. was an Woodford made a malt rye. In the fermentation tanks, they made a chocolate, they were just going to do a regular bourbon afterwards, but the flavor stayed in. The rye flavor carried over. Yeah. So this is called their chocolate malt whisperer. This is their Well, this is their special little bottles. yeah. They're Buffalo experimental. Yeah. No, think this is... Not as dark. Not as dark. but it's 90.4 proof. So I think everything at Woodford is, isn't it? They do a couple things. Yeah, there's special releases. You get that rye. Yeah, that's what I catch. I don't get the chocolate. don't get it's not as I'm getting the malt fresh as that. think that's the yeah, like it was just cherry. I think the cherry just it's really good. Yeah. Hmm. So if I just... Yeah. If I get a little bit of them all. Yeah, I think so. If you're just... Yeah. Very malty. Yeah, ⁓ definitely on the palate and I catch the rye now too. I get the chocolate malt on the back end. ⁓ on the tongue, not at like the front, but like on the finish is where I'm getting it. I'm a big chocolate malt fan. has that now too. They have chocolate malt something. just saw it. malt with caramel. Yeah, that's exactly. That's my go-to. Have always had that? I don't know if I've ever noticed it before. ⁓ yeah. Standing there, like, that actually sounds good. At it goes to you. right. Yeah, that's... Man. I mean, think this double-double oak is... Yeah, it's phenomenal. It's tough to follow that, I think. This is a little more bitter. Yeah, I think that's why I mean, if you're to talk rye, you're going to talk... mean... Yeah. Hmm. Me and I know if I'm going for one, which one I'm going for. So I got a little bit of the cherry flavor. Then I got the chocolate mulled on the back end. I swished it around in my mouth a lot. Heat on the tongue. I don't know. said it. mean, think it compared to this. I mean, this was just so freaking smooth. I think that's the part that stands out now is that even at 90, this, this feels like this drinks higher than 90, which I don't think anything really drinks higher than 90, I guess. But this is crazy smooth. Yeah. Yeah. I wouldn't even guess it drinks that. Yeah. No. Yeah. Somehow it drinks under 90. Yeah. Swag. Yeah, stickers. This was out again this week. trying to think what else was hiding. There's the Jefferson's and ocean stuff from last week. Yeah, I think it's still making a chance. Yeah, because I don't think it was everywhere last week now Well, we all showed up for the drop last week and yeah, nobody bought I think no. Yeah, everybody was right back out Yeah, so happened some weeks up in the ⁓ of dawn and for nothing sometimes. Yeah, when I'm all that's the ride catch on that still And it's been a couple weeks now since we've got got any Buffalo trace Two weeks. Yeah. Well, I think it'll be three more weeks at least they've they used to be really consistent five weeks now It's ⁓ they've it out a little bit different. They also used to do it in two different weeks ⁓ So would get red and green one week and then you would get Well red and trace and then you would get Taylor Blanton's ⁓ and eagle. So they've combined that all into one week. I mean, if you're trying to make it further into the line, that's the way to do it is just dump it in one week. So I mean, I guess I get it. I'm not sad about it. we haven't seen any barrel proofs since last year or anything like I don't think you'll see them again until the fall again now either. Yeah, I think that just don't. Need a little bit of this to rinse that out now. Almost. It's really good. just looking at how much difference in color it is, it's crazy. No, you've got two thumbs up. think that double double is... It's legit. And worth it. Yeah, no, I agree with that. And don't think proof really matters on that one. It's just so good. Anything else going on with you? Third or. even almost half of the book is the story, the history. And then he goes through and he starts, he breaks down everything they've put out. ⁓ the new stuff. Okay. ⁓ even the old stuff. Yeah, so I mean it is like... Full like anthology almost. Yeah, and then a timeline and appendices. ⁓ that's cool. So, excellent job, David. He is sending us samples. ⁓ that's nice. of Caleb's Crossing. have that coming up. And that's his own blend, right? That's his own blend. And one isn't done in an Armagnac. So I'm excited about that.
