Dan and Bob: Good evening. How's everybody tonight? well, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Buddy. We're doing pretty good. Yeah. I I I think â we're doing really well. Yeah. tonight we are doing the Colonel E. H. Taylor Four Grain. multiple weeks â Wednesday special Yes. Go get line at Buffalo Trace and hope for the I guess not hope for best, because everybody got â Up to a point. But but even I guess even the last day, which was this past Wednesday, people were still getting them at like two PM. â that So it the hype â all the that people had to to get it? I mean that's the question. do I see a perforation? I think there is on these. You want a knife? Yeah, go ahead. â Try that. Okay, it's almost like a â there it's So â I didn't go, I know. was last released, was twenty fifteen? I think that's what it was. And they must have made a lot of it. Yeah. We'll see. Taylor Crack. â are the four grains? Let's talk about this. Do we know this? So we know it's at least corn, wheat, rye, and Okay. So for the record, I had a second B camera set up for tonight. â was a fail. â â fail. Didn't work. Well, it worked. The camera worked great. Yeah. But I lost all audio. So we couldn't Hmm. It's good. Yeah. It's the Trace floral. Yeah, and I think it's got a little ethanol on it still too from like just being open. Yeah. So seventy nine ninety nine. Okay, I was wondering how at the distillery I didn't even look. I have seen on the secondary market. â yeah. Four fifty, four twenty five. Yeah. It's tempting. I don't all part of the people that were able to make it down there. I got a day job, so it don't work for me. knew a couple of people that made it down over the last couple of weeks. â Last and this week I think we had friends that were all down there, so worked out. Yeah. Yeah, I think it is it's a nice nose on it. Yeah. Not overpowering. But it's been a busy it's been a crazy, busy couple weeks. Well, I think that w between your schedule, my schedule, kids finishing school, all of that stuff, it has been I feel like I haven't seen you in two weeks. Yeah. So yeah. And then then my work schedule. Yeah. it just been crazy. Yeah. Mm. All right, I'm going in. So it's still a little hot. Yeah. Ethanol y, but I really like the flavors behind it. I think this sits open for a little bit. Yeah, I think it's gonna need to. I mean I Course that was our first. it's my first pour of the day. I Yeah I think it's got a pretty strong rye in it too. That's the Okay, so the nose is a lot better after taking my first Yeah. Gonna go in for drink too. we know anybody that has â older one? I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for something because mean this was the between this and Wild Turkey this week, this was the the big hits for the that everybody was hoping for, right? So Right. But in Wild Turkey, they were supposed to release it by â month, but they they did their VIP event. Yeah. But they haven't released it at the distillery yet. Well, I mean they got what, two days, three days left? Yeah, guess. I mean. I think we gotta come back to it tomorrow. Drink three. I â Yeah. I'm getting a little bit of like a caramel y syrup, but also a little bit of the rye bite. Yeah, I I'll agree with the caramel I It's like a darker sugar. Don't mind me. It's like a I would say like dark brown sugar. Yeah. Less of a floral palette or fruit. I believe it is not the normal buffalo cherry or buffalo trace cherry floral. Yeah. And again, different mash bill obviously than what we're used to on a lot of this stuff, but You mentioned they haven't done this since twenty fifteen. I think that's one of the things that stands out for me is kudos to them for bringing it back. Kudos to them for I mean was distillery only, but they made it known. They apparently were opening early to let people in. And my gut tells me is the city was in on that because traffic a whole thing, I have to assume. But yeah, I mean between good on them. this is I always say Taylor's got the coolest labels. I always think that Taylor has a very cool branding behind it. I listen it's always the weird randoms that they release â that themselves into the warehouse C's and whatever else is. So this is a a â thirteen year bourbon. I and they're selling at the distillery for seventy nine bucks. Yeah, it well. That's the part. Listen, Buffalo Trace Has the market I mean and again, it's gone what is that? Four times that on second round, three and a half, three times that, but still. Yeah. Now get a nutty Yeah, I mean Okay, so the nose now is a lot better to me. Yeah, I I think like I said, I think I get a little bit more nut on it now too. Yeah. Yeah, that weed is like a real dark. Yeah. It gives it a dark sugar. Yeah. Yeah. It's not normal. Yeah. it's different. And then the palette sticks. I yeah, I think it I mean it's held a glass well, it's â Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean I wouldn't say no to the another one of these. I wouldn't Right. I mean I I know it's gonna get opened again. It's it is what it is at this point. Yeah, I'll I would be really curious to see how it does once it oxidizes a little bit. I think that's the gonna be the key to this one. Mm. Yeah, no you're right though. The nose keeps getting better on it. Yeah. The more I come back to it, the more it sits a little bit. the more I drink it, I'm getting more I'm getting the deeper flavors. I'm getting the deeper sugars. The pepper is not as as hot. Yeah. I agree with that. Yeah. You get a just a f a hint of that fruit, that cherry flavor. Yeah. they're known for. No matter what. It's a good bottle to have. I and again I I think you're right. It's gonna open up a little bit more over time. I think that We'll keep we'll keep an eye on this one. Yeah. Well yeah, we'll circle back in a couple of tomorrows. And then tomorrow and another tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah, I like it. just released. Taylor Four Grain. Mmm. â I I said, it's it's a good special release for them. I kudos to them for the pricing. Kudos to them for making it available. Right. I'm happy that. Yeah. We could do another one. I do have another one I haven't opened. So I went ahead I â we saved the Willet. â But I did get this. Let's another one. So is an OHLQ pick. Where did you find this? This a Chalet. Okay. that's right. You know what? They had it. I wasn't gonna get it. I wasn't gonna get it. And I finally decided I've heard great about Augusta. Yeah. And for them to out with a wheated Yeah. Might as well try it. And this is an OHLQ barrel pick. once again no â Or just haven't found them. I could on my glasses. Knife, yeah. â there it is. Yep. Then it's sim. Get it right. No on this? I'm shocked. they probably to so many of them out the door. Ooh, I like the color on this. Yeah. this Augusta Hundred and sixteen point nine proof. And it's bottle number sixty-seven of barrel twenty six dash twenty-five. And think got all right words. It's got all the single barrel, cask strength, unfiltered. Yeah. Let's put some more stuff on there. Nice dark color on Yeah, it is. A little funk on it. it does have some funk. I like that. Yeah. Nice dusty fun. Mm. the cherries. Yeah. Yeah, it's got some funk on it. Dude. It doesn't drink 117. This good. Yeah. That's really good. Yeah. And maybe it's the difference. We just came off of something with some rye in it and. Yeah, but that's only 100 proof. Yeah. And this is 117 proof. And this. It just has some really nice flavors to it. Wow, bravo. Yeah. it's got a little bit of earthy funk on it. I d i it's good. The the nose is r really nice on it, don't get me wrong, but Wow, that that to me sneak up would surprise ya. Yeah. I'm getting that Fantagrape soda. You know, like that grape pop out of it. Yeah. think we about the dark sugars. This is really bright. Like this is not in a hot, like stingy way, but I it's be wheated, right? â Yeah. I I Yeah. I get the funk on the nose. Yep. Mmm. A little bit of that floral, a little bit of that fruit. And caramel, but yeah. And then on the palate I get that that grape soda. Yeah, I will agree with this. I don't know that I've ever tasted it that pronounced. The grape? Yeah. Yeah. It's like they added grape soda to it. I'll take two of those. Yeah. like it though. You're right about the grape. Okay, that's the surprise of the night right there. Listen this was good, but This one's sneaky. Good call of them. Were those sitting there? They had them there for for weeks. I don't know if they still do, but maybe they put it on the shelf. But that's worth picking up. Yeah. I like that a lot. Yeah, 'cause that'll g that'll go Yeah. That's a nice pour. we knock off HLQ all the time, but maybe isn't specifically just because of them, but â Augusta, Yeah, I've heard the good things about Augusta, â just had a chance to do it yet. Yeah. But that is fantastic. Yeah, I like it. We're gonna come back to that one too. I agree. Yeah, and I think that one will I mean it's got a little bit of the tinkle. Yeah. But I that one will soften and just I agree. wanna be one of those dangerous drinkers. else should I do? Don't it. I know. I think there's other stuff. We'll have to do a maker's mark run. Right. Didn't get the wheated white dog. did you just get that? Yeah. Not all that. I like it. it turns out this is a considered unicorn. â really? Kirklands. Bottled Bond. Huh. From Costco. All right.
